The Consumer's Loan: The 10/30 Interest Only

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Williams]John Williams Of all the products in the interest only loan market, this product, the 10/30 interest only loan, might be the most beneficial to the consumer. Why? Because it actually works with the consumer in mind, on the same time frame that the average consumers income level, expense level, and needs for retirement planning usually occur. The 10/30 Interest only loan works in the following way: you borrow money in the form of a 30 year mortgage, with a fixed interest rate. The first 10 years are interest only payments, with the full amount of the principal being amortized over the last 20 years of the loan. What benefit does this option provide? There are several for the consumer who happens to be about 28 or 30 when he or she borrows, with small children, and a starter level income. The consumer at this stage of their life doesnt necessarily have retirement on their mind. The greater demands of raising a family, providing a home for that family and stretching their budget to meet all the demands is the goal at this age. This option also will allow the family to live in a home that is big enough to accommodate their need for space, and still not eat up too much of their budget in a monthly mortgage payment. The interest only option means that the payment is smaller than it would be with traditional financing, but it gives the homeowner 10 years to make optional principal payments, get the kids through college, and then look to retirement, with only 10 years left to pay on a mortgage. The interest only option provides for a larger tax deduction on their return, and most of these consumers will use the itemized deduction portion of their tax return. The 10/30 Interest only loan looks pretty good from the consumers viewpoint, so long as they dont loose site of the long term goal, and theyre able to discipline themselves with their other expense. Sometimes, the interest only loan and the 10/30 option turn into a real benefit to the consumer. John Williams writes about [http://www.interestonlys.com]interest only home mortgages and a variety of other topics. Where Do You Get Bad Credit Loans?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bill_Darken]Bill Darken I have a bad credit history can I still get a loan? Bankruptcy is at an all time high in UK and its quite high comparatively in most other countries. Sensing this as a business opportunity some companies have emerged with what they call as Bad credit loans. A bad credit loan is aimed at people with bad credit history. What exactly does a bad credit means though? It means that people with all kinds of financial problems are now able to loans to suit their needs. The financial problems can range from simply being self employed and having trouble finding loans elsewhere or having defaulted on loan payments to even being bankrupt. Some loans are especially tailored for home-owners with bad credit ratings to finance their mortgage loans. Loans are available to individuals from a small amount of $5000 to $1000000 and the repayment period varying from 5 years to 30 years. What are the types of Bad Credit loans that I can get? The various types of Bad Credit loans that are on offer today are listed as under: Bad Credit Home Loan - These loans are especially meant for people with bad credit ratings who want to purchase a home. This could be for a mortgage for your house or even your second home. The range of home loans also includes home improvement loans and also debt consolidation loans for loans taken at various times for the purchase of your home. Bad Credit Auto Loans - These loans are meant for individuals with bad credit ratings and who desire to either purchase a car or a motorcycle. The loans are given for both new vehicles as well as second hand vehicles. There is an auto refinance option also available which essentially means you can refinance some of the debts that you had taken earlier for this purpose. Bad Credit Cards - For repaying bills on your credit cards which you find trouble in repaying credit card loans are available. These are for unsecured cards or even student cards. Bad Credit Personal Loans - This type of loan is available for both secured and unsecured personal loans as well as line of credits and Payday Cash advance. Is there a catch? While all this may sound too good to be true, it does happen however, it is natural that you will have to pay an interest rate which is higher than normal if you have to avail yourself of such loans. In case of bigger amounts like homes and cars the same assets will be required to be put up as collateral. In other cases you would need a co-signor and it would be required that the co signor has a good credit rating. Another thing to be careful about is there are several brokers who are engaged in dealing with bad credit lenders and will strike a deal for you so that you can get a bad credit loan. However, chances are that the interest on the loan would be relatively higher and at the same time there might be a fee upfront which makes the loan reasonably expensive. If possible you should try to eliminate using the services of a broker as the commission of the broker will increase the cost of your loan and make it even more difficult for you to repay. Its a mixed bag really if you look at the overall picture in bad credit loans. While the industry is gearing up to this new segment of customers making it possible for individuals getting loans even with bad credit history at the same time people who got in trouble the first time around because of money problems may end up ending in the same problem again and it's prudent to wait if the money need is not too pressing. Online Pharmacies - A Level Above the Local Drugstores

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Alfred_Anderson] Alfred Anderson "Convenience" is the keyword that has spelled instant success for the Internet pharmacies. While the traditional drugstores have continued to be the preferred option over the counter drug distribution center, the Internet pharmacies are soon catching up with their popularity. Unlike a decade back, today Internet penetration is around 70% in the United States. More and more people are increasingly relying on the Internet to carry on their transactions. Customers find it easier to order online rather than going all the way and queuing up in front of the nearest drugstore. Patients with severe disabilities and those who are bedridden due to an illness find it difficult to reach the local drugstore to get the medicines. With an online pharmacy, they can now conveniently order drugs without moving out of their residence. Though convenience is a key factor that has given the web-based pharmacies an edge over the local drugstores, there are other factors as well that has collectively contributed to the increasing popularity of Internet pharmacies. The cost of drugs is on a rise. Patients requiring such expensive drugs over a long period of time feel the pinch more than anybody else. The Internet pharmacies, particularly those based in Canada, offer drugs at discounted prices. The Canadian government has regulated the price of prescription drugs sold in their market; furthermore the low value of Canadian dollar along with time-to-time discounts has made drugs a lot cheaper in the Canadian market. Most patients do not want their medical status to be revealed in the public. Local drugstores operate in public and thus such confidentiality is difficult to be maintained. Online pharmacies on the other hand practice a far more secure mode of operation. The patients details supplied to them during the course of a transaction are kept secure and confidential. Once the order is placed, the drugs are delivered straight to the patients doorsteps. Amazing discounts, low cost, security of patients information, good quality and above all the degree of convenience associated with an internet pharmacy has made them a preferred alternative for the patients. Over a period of time online pharmacies (particularly [http://www.buylowdrugs.com/] Canada drug pharmacy) are likely to become the most sought after distribution point for prescription medicines. Alfred Anderson has rich experience in the field of online brand marketing. His interests includes Internet marketing and research on emerging online business trends. Improving Lead Generating and Conversation Rates: Think Like a Farmer

By Charlie Cook John's a freelance photographer in Ohio who called to tell me of his frustration with the advertising and promotional campaigns he has tried in the last couple of years. Each time he does a promotional mailing to his list of 10,000, he is lucky if he gets one or two inquiries. I had a similar call from a corporation that was spending its time and money driving traffic to its web site. With six thousand visitors a day, they were only getting a couple of inquiries per week. Both businesses were spending a lot of money to get attention but werent converting this attention to leads. Are you having the same problem? Marketing is a lot like farming. You cant just head out to your fields and bring in a bountiful harvest. First, you buy seed from the money youve budgeted. You buy enough to be sure that a good crop will germinate and thrive until harvest, and youre likely to plant several different crops to hedge the weather and the market. You may not be interested in becoming a farmer, but if you want to see your business grow there are three ways thinking like a farmer can help you. 1. Learn How to Collect More Leads
A farmer needs seed and lots of it to bring in a bountiful harvest. You need a lot of quality leads to increase your clientele. If your ads or mailings aren't resulting in a steady stream of inquiries, find out what's not working and change it. By changing a couple of sentences of your marketing copy or your offer, for example, you can increase response rates by a factor of ten or more. Could you collect more leads with the right marketing strategy and marketing copy? 2. Learn How to Increase Your Lead Conversion Rate
A farmer who had spent his savings on seed wouldn't plant his field, then go on vacation and come back months later expecting to find a healthy crop. While you may be the exception, this is the way most people market their businesses. According to The Yankee Group, between 40% to 80% of new business leads aren't converted simply due to lack of follow-up. Many businesses spend money on getting attention and then don't follow up on a prospect's interest by giving them the information or contact opportunity they want. What you tell a prospect and how promptly you respond when they show an interest determines whether they continue to stay in touch. Of the people who see your ads, what percentage respond? Of the people who visit your web site, what percentage contact you? Of the people who contact you, what percentage become clients and customers? Could you increase your lead conversion rates by improving your Internet, phone and mail follow-up? 3. Learn to Use Systems that Generate Leads, Nurture Them and Increase Conversion Rates
Today's farmers are as technologically and information savvy as any of us. Farmers use GPS in their tractors to plant their crops, the web to connect to weather forecasting and crop price information web sites to track their markets. Using high tech information and machines to get the work done, today's farmer has a system for buying seed and supplies, planting, maintaining and harvesting his or her crops. They make good use of systems and machines to increase their chances of bringing in a bountiful harvest. In the case of the corporation mentioned above, a simple change to their web site increased their lead conversion from 1 or 2 a week to 80 a week. Could your lead conversion rates increase with a better system for capturing and following up on leads? If you're like me, you get hungry often. Whether you're taking photographs or growing lettuce, you want to generate more leads and grow your business. To fill your larder and bring in a steadily increasing number of clients, think like a farmer. Use your marketing strategy and lead generation system to bring in many more prospects and increase your conversion rates. When you do you'll find yourself with a bountiful crop of new clients.

Use Trade Show Magicians to Fill Your Booth with Prospects

By Mitch Tarr Trade show magicians are one of the many ways to build booth traffic and separate your company from others on the floor. At a trade show you not only have to compete against your competition's sales reps but also you have to compete against all the 'attention-grabbing' strategies they use. Louder doesn't always mean more traffic. One thing that really draws a crowd IS a crowd. If you want to build a small crowd that grows larger, consider how magic works on people. It is irresistible! Even better, a good trade show magician understands his (or her) role on the floor and works for you to build an interested, feel-good crowd. If you are planning to use trade show magic to draw a crowd . . . and it will, then you need to go one step further. Just doing magic for the audience that will build in your booth is not enough. You have to have a plan! There are really two things you have to do to make this not just a good strategy but a great one. First. You have to find a way to engage people during or after the magic to find who they are. Look at your booth layout, train your staff and create some sign up tools. But in some way you have to take advantage of the fact a large crowd has stopped at your booth. Second. You must ensure your key marketing message is incorporated into the act. Trade show magic is not really about entertaining people, although good magic does just that. People in good moods are easier to approach and build rapport with. But this is a chance to add that EXTRA piece of having a larger group hear your key marketing message. This will work great if your trade show audience is as laser-focused as your target market. For example, if your target is dentists, and you are at a dental convention you don't need to spend much time qualifying to discover if you have a dentist in front of you or not. They will be. But if you are at a technology show, you may be talking to anyone from the VP to a programmer so you need to find out who they are. So take this chance to get your message to your audience. A special offer at the end would do the trick. Spend the time BEFORE the show during your planning sessions (you do do planning don't you?) to use trade show magic to go to the next level. What is Righteousness? - Part 2

By Saundra L. Washington As was pointed out in part 1, righteous is not simple goodness. We know this because the Pharisee was a good man and followed religious rules and rituals more than most of us would or should. But, his goodness was unacceptable to God. There will be a lot of so called good people in hell. Goodness is not a ticket to the Kingdom of God. Righteousness is also not being different for difference sake. Though Christians are called upon to be different from unbelievers, God is concerned with what manner we are different and what constitutes the difference. Righteousness is not ritual. There are many who confuse following rules and rituals with righteousness. Ritual, be it ever so wonderful and beautiful, is not righteousness. In the church for example, it is possible to have ritual without worship or what St. Paul called the form of godliness. The form is as far as a lot of people go. There is absolutely nothing real about them. They look like saints but act like Satan. Righteousness is definitely not ritual. It is not a body of rules to be rehearsed like an actor would rehearse a scene. We can never measure up by following rules and rituals. The Pharisee believed in sticking to the rules. Listen to him as he proudly says, I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' Luke 9:12. Now I believe in fasting when there is real spiritual reason for it. But this business of not eating simply to impress someone with it is ridiculous. I am amazed how during the Lenten season the things people decide to give up. They give up everything but themselves; everything except what the Lord requires. But, lets not go there. We also learn from the Pharisee that he was not cheapskate. He believed in giving God his monetary due. Most people rob God. They receive from God but only give Him back what may rightfully be called residuals. But again, ritual is not righteousness. What then is righteousness? True righteousness springs from the heart. It is God centered, not self centered. It is recognizing our deficiency in the presence of Gods sufficiency. Righteousness is something that perfects in our lives. It is Christ inside of us carrying out the will of God. The one who in faith gives oneself to the doing of God's will is righteous, doing righteousness, and considered righteous by God. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God's friend. James 2:23. Righteousness is that which God requires of man and which He gives as a gift to people of faith. In this line of thought, faith is the condition for the reception of the gift of righteousness from God. God acts in Christ, and, in turn, humans react by having faith. Then God gives them righteousness or count them, on the basis of their faith, as if they were righteous. Before You Start A Diet Make Sure You Check Out This Atkins Diet Information

By Cazza Bourke Though the Atkins diet craze has died down somewhat, there are still many people who want to try it. Though I am not big on fad diets, this is one that I used with some success. I had to quit using it though, because the Atkins diet information I was finding was a bit scary to me. Though many of the foods on the diet are ones that people love to eat, it really isnt that great for your heart. That doesnt mean you cant use it, but you should really talk to a doctor before you do. You should find all of the Atkins diet information you can find before you begin. You dont want to start the diet on what you think you know. If you have a heart condition, you really have to watch what you eat, and some of the foods on this diet are not good for the heart. I would not suggest that anyone use this diet if they have heart disease in their family, and some of the Atkins diet information that you find will tell you just that. Your doctor can tell you more about it, and why this diet might not be for you. You can find Atkins diet information in many places, but if you read the books you will find what you need. You should know that there are many who think this diet is all about eating fatty steaks, bacon and eggs, but your common sense should tell you that this is not good for you. I know the diet worked for me before I quit using it, so there is something to the claims that it works, but it also is very iffy on the nutritional side. When looking for Atkins diet information, make sure you are getting real health information, and not just one persons view of it. This diet goes in stages, and once you get past the first stage, you are going to be eating a great variety of food, but in the beginning you are going to be pretty limited. What many leave out when talking about Atkins diet information is that you really do have to watch your portions. Many think that they can just eat the right foods, but they dont have to watch the portion size, and they can eat whenever. You can never lose anything if you are taking in too many calories. This holds true for any and all diets. Cazza Bourke works for a prominent health club company. She also works as a private fitness instructor in San Diego, California. Marketing In The 21st Century

By Tony Thomas Viral Marketing has exploded within the last couple of years. Placing your business and products in front of hungry eyes has morphed from static advertising to audio, video and other forms of viral content. Through the birth of Internet-ready cell phones, text messaging, blogging, wireless laptops, websites that allow video content to be uploaded, 24/7 and services such as iTunes, the ways of promoting yourself are as vast and widespread as your creativity allows. Thinking "outside the box" has never been more important than it is now. There is cash to be made and the need to go where your customers are hanging their hats is vital to the survival and growth of your business. Don't look at it as extra work, but a new challenge and an exciting time to live and work. BLOGGING Blogging is something that every business owner needs to learn to do. Why? It is an everyday medium that is sweeping the Internet. There are blogs for every interest and on any subject you can think of. From breeding dogs to the correct usage of a lawn trimmer, people are out there on their blogs, informing and interacting with others who are interested in what they have to say. Taking it a step further, when you create a blog of interest and begin to generate traffic to it (and you will!), your visitors will want to share their thoughts about what you are talking about. People love to give their opinions and it's your job to open up that dialog. In essence, these people who respond are creating new content for you. The search engines are spidering your blog every time a new entry or comment is made. They love blogs and you will probably soon find that they are ranking your blog or blogs far better and quicker than your actual website! How cool is that? As you get into blogging, you will also be exposed to what is known as RSS Feeds. Quickly, this is a way of providing opt-in content to people through RSS readers and email. I won't go into detail, but will suggest you learn more about it. Just one more way of promoting yourself and spreading the word that you have what people are searching for. Good places to get a free blog is Blogger.com or Wordpress.com. Start today and see that what I'm saying will indeed profit you. I can almost guarantee it. VIDEO AND AUDIO Unless you've been under a rock for the past year or so, you will have noticed the explosion of, what is called, "viral videos." These videos created by anyone who has access to a video camera are sweeping the `Net and growing as viewers post them to newsgroups, link to them from their own blogs or websites and share them with others, via instant messenger or email. With a single video submission to popular websites such as YouTube and Google Video, businesses are placing themselves before the eyes of millions of potential customers. They are making themselves known by promoting their website or product or even advertising for other companies. For example, say that you are a mechanic who would like to share your expertise with others by showing them how to check and change out their vehicle's brakes. You create a video in which you take them through the steps, showing them all they need to know. You market that video by either tagging it with your own mechanic shop location or website or by contact, say, Les Schwab and seeing it they would like to sponsor it. You tag it with their information at the end, collect some money from them, and put it on YouTube for all to see. You both get the exposure. That is only one example of the things you can do with video. The possibilities are as vast as your creativity. You can do the same with audio. Create a MP3 podcast of your travels, ways to do something, interviews, whatever. Market them in the same ways and watch the traffic roll in. FORUMS AND DISCUSSION GROUPS Forums and discussion groups exist for any and all subjects under the sun. If you have an interest, you are sure to find a good handful of discussion groups made up of people who share that same passion. Register for those groups and make some friends and, more importantly, contacts. Share your knowledge and experiences, solve people's problems, and promote yourself through your posts. Not blantantly, but by way of the signature your create. Each of your posts will have your signature tagged onto the end of it. Here's your chance to link to your website or promote your product. Don't sell, but PRE-sell. Once the other group members find that you seem to be an expert on what you speak about, they will trust what you say and be more apt to click on the links in your signature. Find the groups, register for them and start making contacts. A couple of the more popular places to find discussion groups are at Google and Yahoo. There are many more out there and they are looking for another voice of expertise. Do both them and you the favor of joining them. Blogging, viral video and audio and discussion groups are just a small number of ways to market yourself and your business in the 21st century. Keep an eye on the technology as it crops up and evolves. Don't ever let a new type of opportunity pass you by. Doing things the old ways will leave you in the dust as your competitors move ahead of you. Find out where your potential customers are hanging out and be there to be the Pied Piper for your area of expertise. Give the people what they want, solve their problems, answer their questions and, they in turn, will be more than happy to give you want you want...KA-CHING! Coin Collecting - What Types Are There

By Michael Russell Coin collecting as a hobby is enjoyed by thousands of people today and the numbers are growing. This wasn't the case just prior to 1999. Coin collecting as a hobby had been on the decline since the mid-1960s when the composition of US coins changed from having silver content to being composed entirely of base metal. It became increasing harder to find old coins in pocket change so interest waned over time. The 50 State Quarters Program began in 1999 with the issuing of the first of the State Quarters, honoring the state of Delaware. The 50 State Quarters Program is credited with placing the spotlight back on coin collecting and single-handedly starting a grassroots comeback for the now popular hobby. The reasons for collecting coins are as varied and diverse as the collectors themselves. For example, some collect coin sets that coincide with the birth year of their children or grandchildren, with the intent of giving the collection to the child at a much later date. Then there are those who collect coins with the idea of cashing in once the set has increased significantly in value. They would like to mirror the success of the late Louis E. Eliasberg Sr., who managed to complete his date-and-mint collection of US coins. After his death, his estate sold his collection for an over all total of $44 million. Perhaps the most common place to start is with date-and-mint collecting. For example, you would collect a Lincoln cent from every year it has been minted and you would collect a coin from every mint that produced it that year. This type of collecting is very popular and because of the availability of coin albums, it is quite easy to get started. Another popular type of collecting is by coin type. Instead of collecting every year and mintmark you would collect one coin from a series from one mint. For example, you would collect one coin from every series produced by a certain mint for the years 1900 - 1910. Your collection would consist of one Lincoln cent, one Buffalo nickel, one Washington quarter and so on. This type of collecting can be less expensive than date-and-mint collecting. Most collectors use the savings advantage to purchase higher-grade coins than they could have afforded collecting date-and-mint sets. A very popular type of coin to collect is the mint error coin. Instead of looking for the rare coin in un-circulated condition this collector looks for coins that have been minted with a blemish or error. Some of the more popular errors are double die, date-over-date, mules and coins struck using the wrong metal. The wrong metal coin refers to the 1943 "copper penny" that wasnt supposed to exist. In 1943, because of the war, pennies were made from zinc-coated steel to save copper. Somehow a few coins were accidentally produced using the old bronze coin blanks and they found there way into circulation. It wasn't until years later that the coin-collecting world became aware of their existence. Many a coin-collecting hobbyist still hopes to find one of these valuable minting errors unknowingly hidden away somewhere. Michael Russell

Weight Loss Motivation

By Mason Grae Weight loss motivationhow many times have you been highly motivated to lose weight? Like many, many people, probably a good number of times. Why then, do our weight loss efforts seem to always end with the same results? We seem to end up tired and hungry with minimal weight loss, even with exercise. Then, we end up poorly motivated, or worse yet, we're left with no weight loss motivation left at all. The answer is two words - positive feedback. With it you can be unstoppable in your weight loss efforts. Without positive feedback it probably is only a matter of time before you are sapped of any motivation that you had started out with. And positive feedback means that you're getting results, good results. You're losing weight, feeling good and sticking to your plan. So, why do we fail? One word, hereDIET! Dieting for many people means deprivation, hunger and fatigue. Keeping motivated for your exercise routines while fighting those three things after a day of work makes exercising a little tougher. This is where weight loss motivation begins to fail. Soon you lose interest (motivation!) in exercising. You see the weight loss slowing, or even stopping, even though you are still "dieting" and still depriving your body of food. And then you figure, "Forget itit's not doing anything. I'll get back on this stuff later." And that's it. Another round of weight loss motivation crushed and another weight loss attempt failed. Cheer up! It's very common and you're not alone! So, how do you fix this? Well, you already know your dieting and exercise always seemed to fail after a while. So this time, change your eating habits first. Learn how to put you body into Fat Burning Mode and not Fat Storage Mode. You can do this just by changing what you eat, when you eat and how you combine foods in your meals. It works fast and it works well. It's not dieting, eitherit's just changing what you eat and how you combine the foods that you eat. Once you're in Fat Burning mode you'll start seeing significant changes and the positive feedback loop will be set and you are on your way:
You will start losing weight, just like before. This is the early positive feedback that keeps you going. But at this early stage, it's just like every other weight loss attempt you've tried.
Soon, however, you lose more weight. You've now gone past that five or six pounds, so you start realizing that something is different. This re-enforces your changing eating habits. You now know that you're on to something good.
People start noticing your weight loss. More positive feedback and more weight loss motivation.
You get much more out of exercising now and you are not tired all of the time. You actually have more energy. This is almost all related to your new eating habits.
As time goes by, you are losing more weight. You fit into clothes sizes that you wore years ago. More positive feedback supporting your weight loss motivation. You're now even more motivated to stick to your new eating habits and learn more and more how this affects weight gain and weight loss.
You now start losing fat in areas of your body that you previously gave up on long agomainly that Tummy Fat and lower body fat. You start seeing muscles that you haven't seen for many years. Again, this all re-enforces your motivation to keep exercising and learning about proper nutrition and eating habits.

And still, you are not always hungry, tired and cranky! Positive feedback re-enforcing your weight loss motivation.
It's at this point that you realize things are a lot different this time. You've lost more weight than you ever have. You have lost that tummy fat and you feel great. Best of all, you don't feel like you're dieting and your weight loss motivation is just as high as it was when you first started, if not higher. Positive feedback leads to more, sustained weight loss motivation which leads to more sustained weight loss! It all starts with proper nutrition and eating habitsperiod. So for long term weight loss, you need to change your eating habits first and try to get your body into Fat Burning Mode. Learn as much as you can about proper nutrition and how what you eat affects your blood sugar and insulin levels. Learn about the glycemic index and glycemic loadingall relating to blood sugar and insulin. This will allow you to lose a lot of weight, keep your weight loss motivation intact and in the end, improve your overall health and well-being tremendously. Start learning about proper nutrition and proper eating habits now. Win the war on weight gain, obesity and body fat, especially that stubborn tummy fat. Put your body into Fat Burning Mode! For a great source on how to do this, see: Burn Fat Better! http://www.BurnFatBetter.com/ Mason Grae is a big believer in properly changing eating habits to promote weight loss, improved blood sugar control, lower blood pressure and improved overall health. Various Types of Herbal Medicine: Used for Thousands of Years to Successfully Treat Diseases

By Danny Siegenthaler Interest in medicinal herbs is on the rise again and the interest is primarily from the pharmaceutical industry, which is always looking for new drugs and more effective substances to treat diseases, for which there may be no or very few drugs available. Considering the very long traditional use of herbal medicines and the large body of evidence of their effectiveness, why is it that we are not generally encouraged to use traditional herbal medicine, instead of synthetic, incomplete copies of herbs, called drugs, considering the millions of dollars being spent looking for these seemingly elusive substances? Herbs are considered treasures when it comes to ancient cultures and herbalists, and many so-called weeds are worth their weight in gold. Dandelion, Comfrey, Digitalis (Foxglove), the Poppy, Milk Thistle, Stinging nettle, and many others, have well-researched and established medicinal qualities that have few if any rivals in the pharmaceutical industry. Many of them in fact, form the bases of pharmaceutical drugs. Research into the medicinal properties of such herbs as the humble Dandelion is currently being undertaken by scientists at the Royal Botanical Gardens, in Kew, west London, believe it could be the source of a life-saving drug for cancer patients. Early tests suggest that it could hold the key to warding off cancer, which kills tens of thousands of people every year. Their work on the cancer-beating properties of the dandelion, which also has a history of being used to treat warts, is part of a much larger project to examine the natural medicinal properties of scores of British plants and flowers. Professor Monique Simmonds, head of the Sustainable Uses of Plants Group at Kew, said: "We aren't randomly screening plants for their potential medicinal properties, we are looking at plants which we know have a long history of being used to treat certain medical problems. We will be examining them to find out what active compounds they contain which can treat the illness. Unfortunately, as is so often the case, this group of scientists appears to be looking for active ingredients, which can later be synthesized and then made into pharmaceutical drugs. This is not the way herbs are used traditionally and their functions inevitably change when the active ingredients are used in isolation. Thats like saying that the only important part of a car is the engine nothing else needs to be included So, why is there this need for isolating the active ingredients? As a scientist, I can understand the need for the scientific process of establishing the fact that a particular herb works on a particular disease, pathogen or what ever, and the need to know why and how it does so. But, and this is a BIG but, as a doctor of Chinese medicine I also understand the process of choosing and prescribing COMBINATIONS of herbs, which have a synergistic effect to treat not just the disease, but any underlying condition as well as the person with the disease That is a big difference and not one that is easily tested using standard scientific methodologies. Using anecdotal evidence, which after all has a history of thousands of years, seems to escape my esteemed colleagues all together. Rather than trying to isolate the active ingredient(s), why not test these herbs, utilizing the knowledge of professional herbalists, on patients in vivo, using the myriad of technology available to researchers and medical diagnosticians to see how and why these herbs work in living, breathing patients, rather than in a test tube or on laboratory rats and mice (which, by the way, are not humans and have a different, although some what similar, physiology to us). I suspect, that among the reasons for not following the above procedure is that the pharmaceutical companies are not really interested in the effects of the medicinal plants as a whole, but rather in whether they can isolate a therapeutic substance which can then be manufactured cheaply and marketed as a new drug - and of course thats where the money is The problem with this approach is however, that medicinal plants like Comfrey, Dandelion and other herbs usually contain hundreds if not thousands of chemical compounds that interact, yet many of which are not yet understood and cannot be manufactured. This is why the manufactured drugs, based on so-called active ingredients, often do not work or produce side effects. Aspirin is a classic case in point. Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in Aspirin tablets, and was first isolated from the bark of the White Willow tree. It is a relatively simple compound to make synthetically, however, Aspirin is known for its ability to cause stomach irritation and in some cases ulceration of the stomach wall. The herbal extract from the bark of the White Willow tree generally does not cause stomach irritation due to other, so called non-active ingredients contained in the bark, which function to protect the lining of the stomach thereby preventing ulceration of the stomach wall. Ask yourself, which would I choose Side effects, or no site effects? Its a very simple answer. Isnt it? So why then are herbal medicines not used more commonly and why do we have pharmaceutical impostors stuffed down our throats? The answer is, that theres little or no money in herbs for the pharmaceutical companies. They, the herbs, have already been invented, they grow easily, they multiply readily and for the most part, theyre freely available. Further more, correctly prescribed and formulated herbal compounds generally resolve the health problem of the patient over a period of time, leaving no requirement to keep taking the preparation that means no repeat sales no ongoing prescriptions no ongoing problem. Pharmaceuticals on the other hand primarily aim to relieve symptoms that means: ongoing consultations, ongoing sales, ongoing health problems which do you think is a more profitable proposition? Dont get me wrong, this is not to say that all drugs are impostors or that none of the pharmaceutical drugs cure diseases or maladies they do and some are life-preserving preparations and are without doubt invaluable. However, herbal extracts can be similarly effective, but are not promoted and are highly under-utilized. The daily news is full of discoveries of herbs found to be a possible cure of this or that, as in the example of Dandelion and its possible anti-cancer properties. The point is, that these herbs need to be investigated in the correct way. They are not just an active ingredient. They mostly have hundreds of ingredients and taking one or two in isolation is not what makes medicinal plants work. In addition, rarely are herbal extracts prescribed by herbalists as singles (a preparation which utilizes only one herb). Usually herbalists mix a variety of medicinal plants to make a mixture, which addresses more than just the major symptoms. In Chinese medicine for example there is a strict order of hierarchy in any herbal prescription, which requires considerable depth of knowledge and experience on the physicians part. The fact that the primary or principle herb has active ingredients, which has a specific physiological effect, does not mean the other herbs are not necessary in the preparation. This is a fact seemingly ignored by the pharmaceutical industry in its need to manufacture new drugs that can control disease. Knowing that medicinal plants are so effective, that these plants potentially hold the key to many diseases, are inexpensive and have proven their worth time and time again over millennia, why is it that herbal medicine is still not in the forefront of medical treatments, and is considered by many orthodox medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies as hocus-pocus. hmmm. The Proper Way To Lose Weight

By Matt Ide Many people still think that there is some magic bullet or pill that will take away their fat. It is surprising to know that billions of dollars are being spent each year on products that supposedly help with weight loss yet arent even approved by the FDA, which ultimately would suggest that there is no actual proof of this or that product will even work. This article is a short primer on how to logically lose weight. Think of it as a wake up call to those who think their weight loss is going to come in a bottle. First, diet supplements that one can find either on television or on the shelf at the store more than likely have not been approved by the FDA. There a loopholes for these products so that they dont actually have to meet the standards of a product that actually works. Next, there are the different exercise machines that will melt the fat away. How many thigh squeezers and abs loungers does one person need to stop buying these products? Unless maybe they like to have extra clothes hangers lying around. Some of these products will work, but they arent going to be the miracle products. They only work when the person who wants to lose weight actually uses these machines and on a consistent basis along withthats righta healthy diet. Now many of you probably know these things already. But many out there will still buy the next miracle pill or item in order to lose weight. Below are a few simple ways to help lose weight, but your going to have to want it and work for it. Stop thinking that youre going to lose weight by taking a diet pill. It just doesnt work that way. The only way to lose the weight and consistently keep it off is by hard work. That means dieting and exercise. Sorry, but you know that its about the only way, short of medical procedures. Now having the right mindset to losing weight is crucial. It would help to have a partner in crime here so that you both can lean on each other when you are not wanting to get the sweat pants on and head to the gym or really want to grab some fast food. You are going to have to exercise- how much and what you do is up to you, but just know that the more you put into it, the more you are going to get out of it. Its that simple. Diet and exercise; it may not sound like fun, but neither is being over weight or paying out hard earned money for a diet pill or exercise machine that is going to do nothing for you. Choosing the Right Lawyer and Getting the Best Legal Advice

By Joseph Then When you are seeking legal advice it is very important to find the right lawyer. There are good and bad ones out there and you need to choose one that will fight for you and try to get results that are acceptable. Price is often a problem as there are a lot of attorneys who will over charge you. One of the best ways to find an attorney is to look in your yellow pages. Here you will find listings of all your local attorneys. Here are some points to look for: - Try to find a lawyer who is from the same state and city as you are and is familiar with all the state laws. - The next step is to find a firm that deals with your particular type of case, as many attorneys will specialize in different fields. Because there are so many different rules and regulations for every field it is rare to find an attorney who will deal with more than one field. - Try to look for an experienced attorney, who will be familiar with all the courthouse rules, regulations and judges. - It is important for your legal advisor to be board certified in the state where they are practicing. - It is wise to check out their reputation if possible, with general public or peers. - They should carry malpractice insurance. - Try to get a free initial consultation. - Be careful when you sign a contract. There should not be any hidden fees and everything should be clear and up front. Make sure fees are discussed and agreed on before signing. Read the contract very carefully. Make a list of a few lawyers before calling them. Ask pertinent questions and be careful of how they tackle and answer them. Be careful to meet with the same attorney who will be handling your case. Here are some questions that you might want to ask: - Try to find out how much experience they have in cases similar to yours. - Try to make sure the case can be resolved in your favor and what your options may be. - How long it will take for settlement. - What your out of pocket expenses might be. - Their fee and total bill. - Make sure they will keep you informed and how they intend to do this. When you seek legal advice try to keep these points in mind when choosing your lawyer. When you take care to choose wisely you will be able to get the best service for your money. Body Mass Index Chart Misleading

By Jim O'Connor Remember when the body mass index chart first came out? People
were running to calculators trying to find out if they are considered overweight and unhealthy. Many, especially athletes, were quickly shocked to find out they were labeled obese. I'm even talking about lean professional athletes who were the picture perfect image of strength, power, and health. After calculating their body mass index (BMI), many were shocked to find out their calculated number indicated a detriment to their health. So how do you calculate this number anyway? First off, you can be lazy and go to consumer.gov/weightloss/bmi.htm, and have the computer tell you the answer. However, if you want to calculate it yourself simply multiply your weight in pounds by 703 then divide the square of your height in inches. It is that simple. Now after using a body mass index calculator you get your big
number. What does it mean? In most cases, not a heck of a lot.
First of all, your BMI doesn't distinguish muscle from fat. You could have a body fat percentage of 8%, with a lot of added muscle, and the body mass index chart will say you are obese, and could be at risk for significant health issues. Now let's take the opposite. Suppose you have never exercised a day in your life and your body fat is 30%, but you weight less than the fit person with an 8% level of body fat. The BMI chart might suggest your weight is right where it should be, and you are at very little risk for health challenges. This is where the BMI Chart is misleading. Recent studies have
even shown a weak and inconsistent correlation between a high
BMI and disease or early mortality. How then can we get an accurate assessment of our link between
weight, and disease? My recommendations are to incorporate
a multiple assessment such as the following: 1. Body fat percentage should be calculated and considered. 2. Take measurements of you waist, hips, and height.
Calculate your waist-to-hip ratio, divide the waist measurement
by the hip measurement. Men should be under 0.9, and women
should be under 0.8. A good guideline for men is to keep their
waists well under 40 inches, and women under 35 inches.
Your waist should be one half your height. Now these are rough
estimates since many factors go into determining your risk
level. For instance, how much exercise do you get? What
type of foods do you consume? However, If your numbers are not in the zone mentioned above, it is time to take action and start exercising and cutting back on
calories. Always consider your body fat percentage versus your lean
muscle tissue. Keep the body fat as low as possible,
preferably under 30% for both men and women. Don't rely on the body mass index charts to dictate your
chance for disease. Use the multiple approach I have
outlined above. It is an intelligent approach for aiding your health and well-being. *** Attention: Ezine Editors / Website Owners ***

Online Cooking Interview: Get to know a Personal Chef!

By Paul Rinehart Online Cooking is pleased to offer an insiders look into the growing personal chef industry. This week, we would like to introduce Heather N. Mader, the owner of Black Radish Personal Chef in Portland, Oregon. Chef Mader graciously offered to share her insights on life as a personal chef with Online Cookings own Paul Rinehart. OC: How did you get into cooking and why did you become a personal chef? CM: Ive always cooked, ever since I was a kid. I dont remember ever NOT cooking! I read cookbooks like novels, I watched cooking shows like feature films. I took a leap of faith and finally quit my office job and talked my way into a job as an assistant cook and baker. I discovered that I could keep up with the best of them, which inspired me to then take a job as a cook in a gourmet take out restaurant. A local family heard of my talents and hired me as their private chef. I enjoyed that so much, but felt it was a shame to only share my food with one family. Thats where Black Radish was born from that intrinsic desire to feed people. OC: Describe a day in the life of a personal chef. CM: Recipe research and menu development I usually do in the morning when Im fresh and clear-headed. I write a shopping list, pack my mobile kitchen, and Im off to the store to buy my clients groceries. I arrive at the home ready to cook 5 meals. I prepare the food, package and label it, clean the kitchen, and Im usually done by early afternoon. Then I spend time in my home office marketing my business, networking and responding to e-mails and phone calls, and reading the APCA forums. I leave the evenings open to cook dinner for my family, handle household chores and curl up with a good (cook) book. OC: How would you describe your cooking style and what influences your cooking? CM: Although I am able to cook different cuisines and accommodate many palates and diets, my specialty is upscale-comfort food. I want people to initially experience the familiarity that comes from memories of their childhood comfort dishes, but then be happily surprised by the little unexpected twists that make those dishes my signature. I love taking old recipes that use cream of mushroom soup and flavoring packets and reinventing them using fresh produce & herbs and homemade sauces. People love those old dishes, but lets face it convenience foods like condensed soups have lost some of their former appeal in todays more discriminating society. I offer the best of both worlds to my clients. OC: What do you love most about being a personal chef? CM: Cooking for a living and having the personal interaction with people who eat my food is the best gift ever. There is something so intimate about creating food, and sharing it. I love my job! OC: What have been your greatest challenges as a personal chef? CM: Starting a business with very little capital and virtually no advertising budget has been a true test of my strength. OC: What is the strangest food request youve ever gotten? CM: Well, one client wondered if I was going to cook elephant because I hinted at the possibility of incorporating African food into his menu! OC: If you have a favorite thing to cook, what would that be? CM: Desserts. They are brilliant concoctions of chocolate and cream, butter and sugar, eggs and flour. I love bringing a towering, beautifully decorated layer cake to the table. People always suck the breath out of the room! OC: Do you have any words of wisdom for someone thinking of getting into the culinary field? CM: If you want to become a personal chef I offer these words: Be patient. It takes time to build up a clientele. Word of mouth works, but its slow. Dont be afraid to ask for help. Friends, family and even other small business owners love to see a small business succeed. Use their help and then give help later when you are in the position to do so. Talk talk talk about your business everywhere you go. Make it your mantra. You CAN start a business with next-to-nothing and make it work. Be tenacious and think positive. Network. Find your inner strength and use it to your advantage on a daily basis. And finally, dont give up! Sample Menu: Black Butte Porter Chili w/jalapeno cornbread
Honey-Mustard Pork ribs w/smashed sweet potatoes
Thai green curry, butternut squash and green beans over jasmine rice
Chicken & truffled Wild Mushroom Gallette
Ginger-Soy Glazed Salmon w/ Wasabi potatoes (many more menu options located on my website at http://www.blackradish.net) Chef Heather N. Mader

College Roommates: Three's A Crowd

By Susan Fee Its hard enough sharing a dorm room the size of a postage stamp with one person, but what happens when your roommate consistently invites friends and dates to hang out too? Even if you all get along, it can get old fast. Sometimes you just want a little privacy. At the very least, you dont want to feel like an outsider in your own room. Whether youre dealing with your roommates ever present love interest, or his obnoxious friends who borrow your stuff, you need to speak up. Roommate issues like this dont go away by ignoring them, so its best to be upfront and work together to reach an understanding. Here are some tips that will help: Keep an open mind. Its possible that your roommate has no idea theres a problem, so dont assume hes trying to annoy you on purpose. Pick the right time to talk. Choose a time to speak to your roommate when the two of you can be alone. Explain that you have nothing against the other people involved, but you feel uncomfortable having them around all the time. Be assertive. Stand up for your own rights while respecting the rights of your roommate. You cant control who your roommate spends time with or when, but you do have a say when it affects your time in the room. Avoid accusations. Starting your sentences with, "you," sounds like an attack and will likely make your roommate defensive, as in: You are being selfish. Instead, own your message by starting with, "I," as in: "I'm unhappy with this situation. Set reasonable expectations. If you leave the room every time your roommate has over a date or friend, he or she will assume nothing is wrong, and the problem will persist. Both sides need to compromise instead of one person making all the changes. Make a schedule. Discuss times when both of you need space to study, sleep, or just be alone and agree to make those times off-limits to guests. If you dont like conflict, you may be tempted to avoid it by gossiping to other friends or complaining to your Resident Assistant without ever talking to your roommate first. Going around the issue will only makes things worse! By approaching your roommate calmly and respectfully, the two of you can work out an agreement thats fair without things getting blown out of proportion. Marketing Your Direct Sales Business

By Bethany Hizer Marketing your direct sales business is one of the most important steps to success. After all, if you don't have customers, you don't make any money. I've provided a few proven ideas that I've used to market my Passion Parties business and hope that you'll have success following these same ideas. Unfortunately, some of the most effective direct sales marketing methods also take the most time. However, these are all ideas that I've used to achieve great results. Postcards to Friends/Family - One of the easiest and most productive marketing concepts is to identify your core group of friends and business relations. Make a list of 100 people that might be interested in your new business venture then send a quick postcard to each one. At first, you're not trying to sell anything, you just want to let everyone know you begun a new business. Then, when you come into contact with these people over the next few weeks you can follow up. Asking "Did you get my postcard last week?" is a great way to follow up without sounding pushy. Flyers - Perhaps you've seen pamphlets or flyers at the local supermarket or retail store. Most of these advertise vehicles or other items for sales. But, I've had some success by creating flyers with tear-off "discount" stickers that can be used when booking one of my parties. For instance, create a flyer with 10 tear-off tabs offering 10% off the purchase of any item. Many people are enticed by these discount offers. Business Cards - There are still a few situations where the handing out of business cards can be a great way to supplement your business. If you're like most people you probably meet a lot of people during the week with which you're unfamiliar. Waiters and waitresses, retail store employees, fast food workers, and other people of a similar job responsibility are excellent sources for both business leads and potential recruiting efforts. Why are these people such great leads? 1. Business Leads - These people often come into contact with thousands of individuals during the day. If you were able to strike up a friendship you might be able to use your new friend as a potential recruiting tool for your business. Have him or her hand out your business cards to customers they're friendly with. Or, just place a table-top card holder next to the register and let the customers help themselves. 2. Recruiting - Many people in the food and retail industry enjoy working with people and are often looking for ways to make a little extra money. This is because, unfortunately, the reimbursement rate for their services rarely matches their amount of work and responsibility. Suggest that the individual call you to discuss how they could increase their monthly income or possibly even replace their current job. Remember, every person you come into contact with is a potential client or recruit. Hand out your business cards as if they were tickets to future success and sell the opportunity with your confidence. In no time, your phone will be ringing off the hook with interested people. As you can see, it takes time to build a profitable marketing program. However, by using the methods I've provided I'm certain that you'll have a successful direct sales business in no time. Using Aromatherapy Candles - Top Tips

By Toby Russell Candles have been used extensively throughout history as a way to provide not only light but also as a way to set the mood for a variety of different occasions. Aromatherapy candles provide a way to do that in an elegant and natural way. It should be noted that true aromatherapy candles are not the same thing as merely scented candles we often find on the shelf of any supermarket. Scented candles contain a fragrance only. True aromatherapy candles are created using natural essential oils that can truly have a therapeutic effect on the mood and body. Aromatherapy candles can be used for a wide variety of purposes, including the relief of stress and anxiety. Lavender is particularly well suited for this purpose. It is the perfect aromatherapy candle to come home to after a long hard day at work. If you find that youre having trouble relaxing or possibly suffer from insomnia, consider lighting a small sage aromatherapy candle. The oil in this candle will help to relax you so that you can get a good nights sleep. Just be sure to completely extinguish the candle before turning in for the night. A chamomile aromatherapy candle is also an excellent choice if you need to relax and reduce stress and anxiety. Suffering from a cold or just not feeling up to par? Light a eucalyptus aromatherapy candle. The oil in this candle will not only boost your immune system but soothe respiratory problems. Other aromatherapy candles that can assist with physical ailments include peppermint candles; which are know to aid with all sorts of problems including muscle aches, headaches and digestive problems. Women may find lighting a geranium aromatherapy candle to be helpful with uplifting their spirits and balancing hormones. A grapefruit aromatherapy candle will refresh and uplift you while a lemon candle can help to relax your senses. As with all candles, be sure to never leave an aromatherapy candle burning unattended and keep away from open air sources and drafts. The right aromatherapy candle can make a great addition to your home, freshening the air around you and soothing away aches and pains. American Style Excuses How to Stay Blissfully Ignorant About the Second Coming of Christ

By Michael Bresciani Question: Because Jesus said ...but of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Mt 24:36, doesnt that mean that we shouldnt spend too much time learning about the second coming of Christ? Answer: To use this verse as an incentive to ignore second coming doctrine would he the same as using it as an excuse. In fact, we need only to go to the very next verse to see that is not what Christ was saying by any stretch of the imagination.... Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Mt 24:37. The keyword in this verse is watch, and that implies an active and thoughtful pondering, perusing and studying the whole aspect of the promise of his return. It is painfully obvious that Jesus did not expect us to stand around gazing into the sky all day looking for him on a white horse. The verb watch is active, and at the very least means to he aware of the full meaning of everything to do with his second coming. We have all heard some preacher reminding us of how many times a subject is alluded to in scripture as a means of emphasizing the urgency or the validity of some particular Bible teaching. I have told others hundreds of times, just to note the times Jesus began a statement with, verily, verily. It clearly was a means of raising the seriousness of what he was saying. The scripture is not just redundant as it applies to second coming doctrine, but it is replete. The second coming messages of the Bible make up about one quarter of the entire scripture, including old and new testaments. If God saw fit to give that much attention to making Christs return known to us how can we dismiss it as an unneeded or extraneous doctrine that shouldnt be given much attention? I would say that to espouse this kind of approach borders on disobedience not just misinformation or laziness. Now more than ever before, as the signs are being fulfilled all around us we are under the greatest call of all time to study, contemplate and proclaim this most serious doctrine. Question: If as Jesus said, we cannot know the day or the hour. What can we know? Can we know within a year, a decade or some measurement of time? Answer: There are two measurements of time apart from the day or the hour that we can recognize and use without naming dates and bringing Gods disfavor upon ourselves. One of those measurements is referred to as a season, specifically summer. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near even at the doors. Mt 24: 32-33. The entire twenty fourth chapter of Matthew has to do with the signs of the second coming, so those are the things he meant when he said, when ye shall see all these things. Without adding any other biblical cross references that pertain directly to the subject. Matthews passages alone should be sufficient to show us what that season is exactly. The words, know that it is near in verse thirty three hardly sound like something we are not supposed to pay much attention to. These words are a biblical imperative that clearly addresses the lackadaisical attitude some folks have about the second coming. Taken seriously, these words mean that not only must we know the doctrine of Christs return, but we must know the season as well. This season must not be confused with a literal season of nature. It could be shorter or longer than that, but it is used only to convey the idea of a short period not a long stretch of years or decades. The sense of it implying only a short period is conveyed by the wordseven at the doors. A pet or a child knows when you are shuffling around at the front door about to make your entrance. The front door is very close and so is the summer season when everything comes into full bloom. The second knowable measurement of time the Bible uses is a generation. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Mt 24:34 Taken in the context in which it was given, it is obvious that Jesus meant the generation that would actually see the signs he was describing throughout Matthew twenty four. He would have to he deceived, misinformed and sadly mistaken if he thought it would happen in his own generation. It is impossible that the Light of the World, John 8:12 was in any way deceived. In the plainest English, Jesus always knew what he was talking about. Rev Bresciani is the author of two popular Christian books. He has also written dozens of articles both online and in print. The Benefits of Chinese Medicine

By James Penn Chinese medicine is a whole holistic system that can lead to a healthier, happier and more stress free way of living. It is a system that people have benefited from for over twenty-three centuries and is used to diagnose, treat and prevent a wide variety or illnesses and problems. The different aspects that make up Chinese medicine all basically rely on the same principle, Yin and Yang. This is basically opposites attract, such as night and day, cold and warm, inner and outer. The basis behind it is to restore harmony and peace to the mind and body; the Chinese believe that by doing so we can eliminate many diseases and illnesses. Qi is the life force that flows uninterrupted throughout the body, similar to blood throwing throughout the veins. It is when there is a disruption in this Qi that problems and illness occurs; restoring the flow of the Qi restores harmony and dissolves the symptoms of illness. The two main components of Chinese medicine are acupuncture and herbal remedies. Acupuncture Acupuncture focuses on the Qi that flows throughout the body; it flows through points known as meridian points. While it is flowing freely we are healthy and happy, but if the channels should become blocked then the Qi stagnates and this leads to symptoms of various illnesses depending on where the Qi is blocked. It works by the acupuncturist restoring the normal flow of the Qi by stimulating certain points on the body. Herbal medicine Chinese herbal medicine is usually dispensed after acupuncture treatment although it can be used as a standalone. There are over a thousand common herbs that are used in combinations for various problems and illnesses. There are two main types of herbal remedies that are commonly used, these are food herbs and are generally eaten as part of the diet and are mainly used for prevention of disease and illness and maintenance. Medicinal herbs are usually prescribed by a Doctor of Chinese medicine and are specially prepared for the patient based on the individuals needs. The formula is made up from the patients medical condition, the environment and the constitution of the person. Medicinal herbs are usually given alongside acupuncture treatment and used in conjunction with the re-balancing effects of acupuncture treatment. The benefits of Chinese medicine are numerous and is has been thought to have helped many physical conditions along with affective disorders and increases mental clarity, here are just a few of the conditions it has been known to successfully treat. Our Guide To Copper Gluconate

By John Gibb There are many different types of supplements on the market today, and it can be tough to weed out the prospective good supplements from a world of choices. For that reason, weve written this article to explain to you more about the element known as copper gluconate. Copper gluconate, a readily absorbable type of copper, can be a great nutrient and asset for your health when used properly on a supplement basis. Copper, being an essential element that is used in all body tissues, is an important trace mineral especially during a period of bodily growth. There are several functions and benefits of copper gluconate that make it a good choice for supplement usage. It is one of the most important blood anti oxidants, helping the body fight off the damage caused by rogue cells known as free radicals. Copper gluconate also prevents the rancidity of poly unsatured fatty acids, another helpful feature. Gluconate helps to keep cell membranes healthy and, equally importantly, helps red blood cells produce hemoglobin. Other studies have also shown this element to be helpful when dealing with high cholesterol, the healing of wounds, osteoporosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, cardiac arrhythmia, hypoglycemia, peripheral vascular disease, and even rheumatoid arthritis. When taking copper, you definitely need to exercise care with respect to your daily copper dosage. The average adult should take about 2 milligrams of copper gluconate per day. This can not be stressed enough, as copper can be toxic when taken overly. If you are pregnant or nursing, it would be a good idea to check with your local doctor to see if a copper supplement will be OK for you. In addition, if you are on any types of medication, it would be a good idea to check with your physician to make sure a copper supplement will not interfere. The product we personally use called Total Balance, which contains Copper gluconate - http://www.health-product-we-use.com is the best supplement we have come across. The Interviewer Is Watching You!

By Tony Jacowski It is not for nothing that the experts advise you to take interviews seriously. The seasoned interviewer will be continuously watching your moves closely to evaluate whether he can put his money on you, in spite of your good academic performance. Complacency, lack of knowledge, aptitude and all behavioral traits will be noticed without you being aware of it, and along with your hard skills they determine your selection (or not) for the job. Your Speech Is Connected To Your Body Language Statisticians agree that 55-65% of all communications between people is through body language. Of this, about 30-40% is transmitted through voice modulation. This leaves us with just about 10-15% for verbal communication. This set of statistics goes to emphasize that interviewers depend at least equally on what they see if not more than what they hear. Interpreting non verbal behavior is a new but effective branch of science. If you didnt already know, it is the same science that detectives use in interrogations. Attempting to lie in interrogations or interviews will meet the same end because of your body language. No sooner than you attempt to lie, your body begins to give signals away of it via deceptive body language. Body Manifestations And Their Interpretations The manifestations of behaviors begin quickly in the form of restlessness and uneasiness of the subconscious mind. However, the physiology is such that it tends to oppose these abnormal stresses resulting in a build-up of stresses inside you. How will this manifest and will it show openly? The impulsive stresses begin surfacing as a non-stop shifting in your seat, avoiding eye contact with the interviewer, faint voice, changed facial expressions and finally a change tone of voice. As failing in a promising interview is probably the last thing you want, you will not want have any misconceptions or misguidance about the importance of your non-verbal behavior in job interviews. Hidden emotions can further worsen your case in the form of a dry mouth and eyes. But wait..it gets worse. The seasoned interviewer will be preparing to play his next card to check attitudinal changes by using delay tactics. Delay Tactics Tighten the Screws Just what are delay tactics? The interviewer may take a brief rest, or pauses between questions and answers to see whether he has done enough to sow suspicion in the mind of the candidate. A dishonest candidate can begin to stutter for words, which is an indication of deceptive attempts. The interviewer still needs conclusive proof of this before he makes his final assessment. The available evidence is still insufficient at this point. The interviewer can begin to test you with simple questions. Unsuspecting candidates usually suddenly relax and give up attempts to conceal facts. Some simple examples of such questions are dates of employment, etc. Now that you are aware how your body language can adversely affect your chances of succeeding in job interviews, you can pay closer attention to the way you behave. The next time you come across someone planning to deceive an interviewer, you know he is going to be easily exposed. Tony Jacowski is a quality analyst for The MBA Journal. Read This Article if You Love Sushi

By Lance Winslow Do you love good Sushi? What is it about raw fish that is so enjoyable to eat? A slab of your favorite Sashimi can truly make your day. You know if I were a shark in the ocean, I think I might be very happy, swimming around eating my favorite sushi. Of course being a Dolphin would be cool too. And just think how much less it would cost to eat rather than cruising into an expensive Japanese Restaurant? Just swim up to your most tasty choice for the day, pick from the menu and take a bite size sample and smile. Sounds good doesnt it. It appears the taste for sushi is an acquired taste to many in the Western World but an innate taste in Asian and other countries. Yet we all know that seafood has been one of mankinds favorite dishes for thousands of years. In fact most of human civilizations live near the water, probably because this is where we have always gotten much of our food. Thus it stands to reason from an evolutionary standpoint that humans would automatically like sushi? Although some say; why would anyone eat raw fish? Well, because it is great and you need to explain this to friends and treat them to sushi so they understand why people love sushi so much. Think on this. The Best Sensitive Skin Care

By David Maillie Sensitive skin is a relatively common condition. People with this skin type tend to have frequent allergic reactions to a variety of products. Redness, rashes and skin irritation are common symptoms of sensitive skin. Eczema is a common condition related to allergic reactions. This skin type also tends to burn easily in the sun. Sensitive skin is believed to be hereditary and there is no real way to cure it. You can reduce the irritation caused by harsh products and irritants. Many people react to ordinary products. You may feel itching or burning soon after application. Other common irritants are skin care products, soaps, laundry detergents, fabric softeners and cosmetics. Choose dye and fragrance free varieties of all these products to reduce allergic reactions and irritation. If your skin reacts easily to products, you will need to choose your soaps and skin care products very carefully to avoid reactions. Look for hypoallergenic products that dont contain harsh chemicals. Any products you use should be fragrance free, as the fragrance is a common irritant. You should choose cosmetics carefully. Most cosmetics contain a wide range of chemicals, in addition to coloring and fragrances that cause irritation. Chemicals are used to preserve make up and increase the shelf life. Look for all natural ingredients and make up that is made for your skin type. Mineral make up is an excellent choice. It contains no artificial ingredients that can cause a reaction. Dry skin is a common complaint. If the skin is very dry, it may show the signs of aging sooner. Fine lines are a common complaint and can be treated in a variety of ways. Keep the skin moist with an oil free moisturizer that is made for your skin type. As with other products, look for a lotion that contains all natural ingredients, rather than a lot of chemicals. Apply moisturizer twice each day, in the morning and before bed. An occasional facial peel can help reduce wrinkling and other signs of aging. Many people with sensitive skin also suffer from acne. This presents a challenge as many products made for break outs contain harsh chemicals. These can be very irritating and make the condition worse. Look for natural products that dont contain harsh chemicals. Use only cleansers that are gentle and made for your skin type. Avoid washing the skin too frequently, which can cause irritation. To soothe irritated skin, you can apply an ice pack on the inflamed areas twice each day. Dont pick at blemishes, as this irritates the skin and spreads pimples to other areas of your face. Drink plenty of water to flush the skin and help keep the pores clean. Stay out of the sun whenever possible. When you are out in the sun, always wear a non oily sun block to protect yourself from overexposure. For bad cases of acne, gentle skin care products may not be enough to clear the blemishes and improve the condition. You may need deeper exfoliation, such as in a facial peel. Estheticians Choice is the perfect product for sensitive skin. This product contains TCA, a non toxic chemical that has been used for the past 30 years by estheticians and dermatologists. In addition, this product can be diluted for a gentler, surface peel. Estheticians Choice can be purchased at www.bestskinpeel.com Complete directions for use are included. You will notice an improvement in the texture of your skin right away, unlike other products which can take months to work. This product works for acne, wrinkling, skin discoloration and scarring.
